Name Search Syntax

Name searches can be performed through the advanced search syntax. The search syntax can specify what type of name search (folder and document) you would like to perform. An example of the search syntax for name searches is shown below.

The Name parameter specifies the search query, which must be enclosed by quotation marks. Type specifies the type of name search to be performed, which can be either Folder and/or Document (F = Folder and D = Document). In the example above, Laserfiche would return all folders or documents that are entitled "Search Query". Laserfiche can search on any combination of folder, and document name.

Sample name search syntax is shown below:

The first example would search for all documents or folders that are entitled "Folder or Document Query", while the second example would search for all documents that are entitled "Document Query".

Note: Folder and document name searches are not case-sensitive. A search for the name "SaMpLe" would produce the same results as a search for "sample".
