Review Date Search Syntax

The advanced search syntax can be used to search for vital records that need to be reviewed on a certain date or vital records that were last reviewed on a given date. The syntax for these types of searches is shown below.

Tip: You may use a mathematical operator (=, >, >=, <, and <=) and wildcards to determine the type of results that will be returned.

Note: The order in which the month, day, and year should be specified is determined by the short date format configured on your workstation. This can be viewed from the Regional and Language Options dialog box, which is available from the Control Panel.

The following table describes what each element in the value specified for the review date represents.

Value Description
dd This symbol represents the desired day of the month.

mm

This symbol represents the desired month.

yyyy

This symbol represents the desired year. A four digit year must be specified (i.e. 2004).

One use for review date searches is to find items that were last reviewed within a specified date range and must be reviewed before a certain date. For example, if you would like to find all records that were last reviewed during the month of January and must be reviewed sometime during the month of June, then you would use the following syntax.
