Note: This section only applies for users that need to log in to a Laserfiche repository. If WebLink is configured to automatically log in to a Laserfiche repository, then you may not need the following information.
Laserfiche WebLink takes advantage of the security configured in a Laserfiche repository. Whenever a user logs into a repository through Laserfiche WebLink, the user will be limited to the entry access rights assigned to the account through which the user logged in. WebLink users are limited to retrieval access to the repository.
Users can automatically be logged into a repository or they can be prompted to specify a user name and password. If a valid user account has not been specified for the repository configuration in use, then the user will be prompted to login. Otherwise, Laserfiche WebLink will login to the repository using a predefined user account. The login user interface is shown below.
To log in to a Laserfiche repository
Load the WebLink Login page. By default, the URL is http://ComputerName/WebLink7.
Select a repository by performing one of the following:
If you want to choose a repository from a list of broadcasted repositories, select the Choose repository from list option and select the desired repository from the drop-down list.
If you want to manually specify a repository, select the Type in repository and server names option and enter the names of the Laserfiche Server and Laserfiche repository.
Next to User Name, specify the user account you want to use to access the Laserfiche repository.
Next to Password, specify the password associated with the user account.
