Cutoff Instruction Type Search Syntax

The advanced search syntax can be used to search for records with a specified type of cutoff instruction. The syntax for this type of search is shown below.

The RetentionType parameter specifies whether search results will contain records with Event-based cutoff instructions, Time-based cutoff instructions, Time+Event-based cutoff instructions, or no cutoff instructions. The following table explains the acceptable values for this search syntax.

Value Description
E All records with an Event-based cutoff instruction will be considered valid search results.

T

All records with a Time-based cutoff instruction will be considered valid search results.

N

All records with a Time+Event-based cutoff instruction will be considered valid search results.

NULL

All records without a cutoff instruction will be considered valid search results.

Examples of cutoff instruction type searches are shown below.

The first sample search will find all records that have either an Event-based cutoff instruction or a Time-based cutoff instruction. The second sample search will find all records that have no cutoff instruction.
